JUNE 13 - JULY 12, 2026
Elizabeth Brandt’s work is experimental and characterized by a sense of playful inquiry. Over the past several years, she has practiced two parallel processes: sewn textiles and painted paper collage. At first, she thought of these two ways of working as inherently separate, but these days she moves fluidly between them. Most notably, her paper collages have informed her textile constructions, which often employ hand stitching and collage-like layering. Her improvisational compositions have a natural, almost ‘found’ quality.
She has exhibited in Germany, Portugal, South Korea, Canada and throughout the United States, She was featured in the recent book Cloth: 100 Artists by Lena Corwin and will be included in a forthcoming book about contemporary quilt making by Batsford Books UK. She lives near the shores of Lake Macatawa in Michigan with her husband.
